It’s August, and it’s either always hot as Satan’s dick where you live this time of year, or it’s usually only almost as hot as Satan’s dick, but this year, you’re hanging out with the rest of us in the worst fucking month of the year, weather-wise. You might hate summer or love it, but either way, August hits, and it’s all you can do to live through another hot, humid, disgusting day. It feels like summer will never fucking end. Well, there’s a playlist for that!
We put together 13 songs on our Endless Summer Playlist, made especially for trying to relax while melting in front of an AC vent, or if you’re particularly unlucky, a portable fan. Some of the songs, like “Cruel Summer” by Bananarama, are right on the nose. Some of the rest are just vibes, man. Endless Summer sounds like a never-ending party right til August hits.
Summer romances end, the heat cranks the voltage, and it’s less party-city and more “Will this ever end?” So we hooked you up with 90s emo hits like “San Dimas High School Football Rules” by the Ataris and old hits like “Dreaming” by Blondie. There’s some upbeat shit in there so you don’t completely lose it while listening in your cold shower, but we were really trying to capture the right sounds for the spirit of August with this one.
